Born of Water – Elemental Origins – Let’s Just Say…

Born of Water, YA Fantasy, Elements, Magic, Power, Mystery, Mermaid, Siren, Ocean, Drowning, Poland, Canada, Friendship, Heroines, Lore, Myth, Fiction, Fantasy, Romance

Are you ready for Born of Water, Curious One?

WOW!!! This first book in the Elemental Origins Series by A.L. Knorr blew me out of the water!!  No pun intended! Full of mermaid lore, old shipwrecks, sea-life communication and a reveal of powers, I had the hardest time putting it down!  The entire novel felt like one of the most realistic mermaid/siren lore versions out there.

I would like to start with the relationship evolution between the mother, Mira and her daughter, Targa.  I felt a lot of angst when their relationship was sort of swapped.  You read a lot of books with that role reversal when the characters live in a trailer.  I cannot attest to that style of living, so perhaps it is the norm and I am just not as educated as I would like to think.

Tuesday’s Child – A Killer Thriller!

Suspense, Mystery, Thriller, Horror-thriller, Psychic, Paranormal Romance, Tuesday's Child

Hey, Curious One!  Dale Mayer has quickly become one of my new favorite paranormal/suspense authors!  Her writing style is almost perfect and drew me in immediately with Tuesday’s Child!  Today I’m writing about a book I just finished.  It was originally published in 2011 and the series has grown to at least 16 novels.  I deeply enjoy a series that is comprised of standalone novels which are all elegantly connected.  I haven’t read the other books yet, but I hope they are as good as her first novel in the series!

The novel grips you from the first page.  It begins with the main protagonist Samantha Blair.  She is being held down by “phantom restraints” as it is revealed that this is not the first time it has happened to her.

The Academy of Falling Kingdoms – Awesome YA Fantasy!

The Academy of Falling Kingdoms Trilogy - Three YA Books not to miss!

Alright Curious Ones, it is finally time for another book curiosity!  I borrowed a trilogy this time from the Kindle Unlimited library (which I am sure you are starting to realize is my favorite thing to do – borrow a set or partial set so I have more material to read) so it has been awhile since my last curiosity discussion.  This trilogy was written by both Marisa Mills and Drake Mason and they used the tagline “I can speak to demons.  The punishment is death.

When I read that, I absolutely had to choose this trilogy as my monthly rental!

The Chain Review – Thrilling and Heart-Pounding!

Would You Enter the Darkness to Find A Child?

I read this next book about a year ago now.  I fell in love with not only the characters and world within the book, but the writing style as well!  Initially, I planned on doing a quick skim of the pages just to get back into the zone of what was going on and then writing discussing it with you.  However, I couldn’t skim!  I love this book SO much that I ended up reading it all again, word-for-word!  The book I am talking about is called The Chain, written by Adrian McKinty.  I am going to do my best to keep this shorter than my previous curiosities because there has to be some mystery left.  You MUST find this book Curious One!

First off, it is divided into two parts.  All the Lost Girls and the Monster in the Labyrinth.  Naturally, I will begin with part one.
