Does “Spring’s Rising” Rise to “Winter’s Captive”?

The Lochlann Treaty – Book Two – Spring’s Rising by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison

Wow.  Wow!  Curious One!  Can you believe what happened??!  I think I might still be reeling from everything that went down and where my mind keeps taking me in potential futures for these wonderful characters.  Okay, I will start at the beginning of Spring’s Rising.

It starts off right where the first one left off, which was awesome.  And can I say too many times how much I do not like Oliver??!  I mean, seriously, what a cowering, selfish, ignorant, thoughtless jerk.  “Sometimes survival matters more than your pride”???  Really??? THAT is your defense?  Ugh.  I told you in the last review of Winter’s Captive how I thought he was hiding something and oh, was he hiding!

Winter’s Captive – The Lochlann Treaty Series – by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison

Winter's Captive

Hello there Curious One!  I just began this series called The Lochlann Treaty.  It is written by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison.  Book one, Winter’s Captive, was pretty good.  Good enough for me to continue reading the series at least!  There are four books so far in the series, spanning each of the four seasons.

Winter’s Captive was a bit slow most of the time though.  I mean, it read fast, but the book covered every single day during the adventure.  Which, if they are written like I’m hoping and combined the series covers about a year, it will be a fun way to experience this specific adventure.

Endless Evil Gives Chills, Creeps – Get a Night Light!

This one is hard to talk about Curious One.  Endless Evil is a Pruitt County Mystery from author Amanda Feyerbend and it is rough; for a couple reasons.  The two killers are so disgusting and terrible, the writing is a bit chaotic at times, and it all is so believable that it could EASILY be based off of true events and real killers.  It chills your bones and gives you a massive dose of the creeps.  I mean, I honestly don’t even know where to start my discussion of this curiosity.  Maybe I should just go for it and see what happens…

“See You Soon” – NC Marshall Grips In this Short Psychological Thriller!

Hey there, Curious One!  I realized that I have been doing a lot of YA and Fantasy talks recently, so I decided to do a mystery/suspense Curiosity!  A few weeks ago, I ran into this book while browsing on Amazon it surprisingly sparked my inner curiosity.  I typically go for longer reads that take a few days or a week to get done, but this one wasn’t too bad.  Written by NC Marshall, See You Soon is categorized as a gripping psychological thriller.  The question I have for you is…did it grip you?

The Elementals – Knorr’s Ending Thankfully Wasn’t the Ending!

The Elementals, A.L. Knorr, YA Fantasy, Elements, Magic, Power, Mystery, Mermaid, Siren, Ocean, Water, Canada, Friendship, Heroines, Lore, Myth, Fiction, Fantasy, Romance, Phoenix, Fire, Deception, Storm, Family, Earth, Fairy, Dryad, Evil, Demon, Shifter, Hunter, Kitsune, Flight, Aether, Sand, Air, North America, Corporation, Company, Betrayal, Titan, Archangel, Angel, Ascend, Teamwork, Connection, Love, Passion, School, Dark, World Domination, Water Element, Fire Element, Spirit, Earth Element, Air Element, Good vs. Evil, Overpower

Ooookay.  This is going to be a hard discussion for me to write up.  The first half of the final book of the Elemental Origins series, The Elementals – written by A.L. Knorr – I did not like.  However, the second half, or rather the last third and epilogue, I loved.  There was no set ending, which I was disappointed in until I looked up her other books.  She has individual series that further explore the girls’ worlds.  So, because of that, I can accept the way she finished off The Elementals.  With that said, it will take me time to be able to collect the rest of them; and the world she created here was beautiful and realistic.

I definitely want more.

Born of Air – A.L. Knorr Left Me Wanting More

Born of Aether, YA Fantasy, Elements, Magic, Power, Mystery, Aether, Spirit, Bird Shifter, Shifter, Freedom, Family, Past, History, Japan, Asia, Discovery, Love, Canada, Friendship, Heroines, Lore, Myth, Fiction, Fantasy, Romance

Born of Air……. Well….. That was….. Interesting….

So, I just finished the 5th book in the Elemental Origins series; Born of Air.  A.L. Knorr did well, although it felt very short, had a very different tone and sort of just… stopped.  This curiosity will be harder for me to express, I think.  I hope you can follow my ever morphing train of thought here, Curious One, because by the end of this, I myself may even be confused.
