Wolf’s Bane by Aimee Easterling – A True Shifter Mystery

Wolf's Bane

This was a good one, Curious One!  I took my own advice and did some research.  I found a collection of five books, written by individual authors that all centered around shifters.  The first book, Wolf’s Bane by Aimee Easterling revolves around two sisters who are secretly fox shifters (kitsune) and a particular alpha wolf who isn’t the leading alpha of the pack.  I will try to keep these all a bit shorter than usual too.

Blooms of Consequence – Passion, Fear and Hard Choices

Blooms of Consequence

Well, we made it Curious One!  The final book of the Dusk Gate Chronicles that I have, Blooms of Consequence, did not disappoint!  Whoo!  There was so much going on!  At the end of the last book, Thorns of Decision, we were left wondering what would happen with the gate.  The four of them, Thoman, Linnea, Will and Quinn were going to accompany Nathaniel to Quinn’s world to keep Linnea safe from Tolliver’s kidnapping attempts.  However, before they could cross over, there were Philothean refugees camped out all over the area, so they were left to stay in the castle.

Breeana Puttroff’s Thorns of Decision Will Hit You Where It Matters

Thorns of Decision

Okay, Curious One.  I’m moving through the first four books of the Dusk Gate Chronicles by Breeana Puttroff fairly quickly!  They are crazy good reads!  This post is going to sort through the third book, Thorns of Decision.  If it wasn’t hinted at by the title, you are aware that some prickly instances may happen throughout the book.  Some hard feelings are felt, and some decisions are made that begin a trail of pain and new beginnings.

Seeds of Discovery by Breeana Puttroff Doesn’t Disappoint

Seeds of Discovery

Curious One!  Hey there!  So, I’m diving right into a series by author Breeana Puttroff.  It’s called the Dusk Gate Chronicles.  For the next couple weeks, I’m going to be immersed into her world with these amazing characters.  I only have the first four books of her series so far and before I have even begun the second book, I can already tell you that I will eventually read all of them (8 books and 2 companion novellas).  However, for now, I’m thrilled to start on what I have available!

The first book is called Seeds of Discovery and if you haven’t read it yet, I promise you, Curious One, you should.  I mean, as almost always, the first book in a lengthy series spends a bit of time sorting out characters and building plot lines for future moments in the upcoming books, but you couldn’t be disappointed in Seeds of Discovery if you tried!

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman – Great for All Ages!

The Graveyard Book Neil Gaiman

Hey there, Curious One!!!  So, today we are going to explore learning lessons from others.  Whether they are your peers, elders, your parents or your siblings, lessons can be taught in so many ways by so many different people.  Sometimes, all it takes is a single word or statement.  Other times, you have to learn them by yourself and solve them by yourself.

Making mistakes is the only way you can learn, and learning is the only way you can grow.  So, let’s grow and explore the beautifully curious world of Neil Gaiman in his 2008 fantasy book titled, The Graveyard Book.

Isle of Echoes- We Witches Three Book Three by Humphrey Quinn

Isle of Echoes by Humphrey Quinn

Alright.  Curious One?  I caved.  I absolutely read the third book in the We Witches Three series by Humphrey Quinn.  Isle of Echoes was about the same as the others.  It answered one question and left me with a thousand more.  The most frustrating part is that I want to know what happens to this family, even though I can hardly stand the style of writing.  It’s bugging me so badly!

Isle of Echoes was pretty well rounded in regard to each of the characters, however I am still bewildered that Eva keeps getting to them so easily.  What’s the point of acknowledging your instincts if you ignore them and walk into traps every day?

And did I call Riley and Melinda?!  Ugh.  Totally Romeo and Juliet vibes which is obviously predictable and absolutely annoying.
