Chill Factor Keeps You Shivering Until The Killer is Revealed

chill factor

Hey Curious One!  It’s been a killer week for me, and I was desperate for a break from all these shifters!  I decided to dive into the world of Chill Factor by Sandra Brown.  She’s a new author for me, I’ve never read her work before.  I was a bit shocked to discover that Chill Factor was originally published in 2005!  I’ll explain why below as we dig into Brown’s world today.

Wolf’s Bane by Aimee Easterling – A True Shifter Mystery

Wolf's Bane

This was a good one, Curious One!  I took my own advice and did some research.  I found a collection of five books, written by individual authors that all centered around shifters.  The first book, Wolf’s Bane by Aimee Easterling revolves around two sisters who are secretly fox shifters (kitsune) and a particular alpha wolf who isn’t the leading alpha of the pack.  I will try to keep these all a bit shorter than usual too.

Still Waters by Tami Hoag – A Disappointment

It’s been a couple hours now since the last page of this book and I am in the middle of a battle here, Curious One.  Tami Hoag’s Still Waters is my discussion of choice today and I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but I was a bit disappointed in it.  If I’m asked who my top crime and suspense authors are, I would have definitively included Tami Hoag in my list.  Still Waters, however, is definitely not among them.

Still Waters begins with the introduction of Elizabeth Stuart walking down a gravel road in expensive clothes with spike heels after her car broke down.  She literally stumbles into a crime scene and a dead body falls onto her feet.

Endless Evil Gives Chills, Creeps – Get a Night Light!

This one is hard to talk about Curious One.  Endless Evil is a Pruitt County Mystery from author Amanda Feyerbend and it is rough; for a couple reasons.  The two killers are so disgusting and terrible, the writing is a bit chaotic at times, and it all is so believable that it could EASILY be based off of true events and real killers.  It chills your bones and gives you a massive dose of the creeps.  I mean, I honestly don’t even know where to start my discussion of this curiosity.  Maybe I should just go for it and see what happens…
