Chill Factor Keeps You Shivering Until The Killer is Revealed

chill factor

Hey Curious One!  It’s been a killer week for me, and I was desperate for a break from all these shifters!  I decided to dive into the world of Chill Factor by Sandra Brown.  She’s a new author for me, I’ve never read her work before.  I was a bit shocked to discover that Chill Factor was originally published in 2005!  I’ll explain why below as we dig into Brown’s world today.

Still Waters by Tami Hoag – A Disappointment

It’s been a couple hours now since the last page of this book and I am in the middle of a battle here, Curious One.  Tami Hoag’s Still Waters is my discussion of choice today and I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but I was a bit disappointed in it.  If I’m asked who my top crime and suspense authors are, I would have definitively included Tami Hoag in my list.  Still Waters, however, is definitely not among them.

Still Waters begins with the introduction of Elizabeth Stuart walking down a gravel road in expensive clothes with spike heels after her car broke down.  She literally stumbles into a crime scene and a dead body falls onto her feet.

Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson

Before I Go to Sleep by SJ Watson

Okay Curious One.  This next novel will get you!  I promise, if you are into psychological thrillers even in the slightest of ways, you will fall in love with this debut novel, Before I Go to Sleep, written by S.J. Watson.

Hopefully, we can stay on the same page with this discussion as I do my best to navigate both my feelings towards the events happening in Before I Go to Sleep and depicting the events happening in a way that doesn’t lose you!  At the ending there are a few group discussion questions that the author posed and a couple of them I would love to explore with you.

I realize how often my brain gets tangled up in the web of the storyline that is being weaved by the author, but Before I Go to Sleep was astounding!  I undeniably loved it!  Even as the reader, looking into the life of Christine, you think you have found the answer and then get convinced you are totally wrong!  Surprisingly, one of the first thoughts that popped into my head was “what if Ben isn’t really Ben?” And then Bam!  You are convinced so deeply that he is and you forget you ever thought that until almost the very ending and you are left with a “What??!” expression on your face as you keep staring at the sentence you just read in complete bewilderment!  I mean…WHOA!  You see it coming, but even still, it slams into you like an avalanche.

“An Uneasy Feeling In the Pit of My Stomach” – The God Project (Audiobook) by John Saul

The God Project by John Saul read by Mel Foster

Alright, Curious One.  If you read my last Curiosity, you will be aware that this is officially my second audio book!  I cannot say how thankful I am that the The God Project audio book was amazing.  It was good enough that I am contemplating visiting another thrift shop to find some more for my next few trips!

Tuesday’s Child – A Killer Thriller!

Suspense, Mystery, Thriller, Horror-thriller, Psychic, Paranormal Romance, Tuesday's Child

Hey, Curious One!  Dale Mayer has quickly become one of my new favorite paranormal/suspense authors!  Her writing style is almost perfect and drew me in immediately with Tuesday’s Child!  Today I’m writing about a book I just finished.  It was originally published in 2011 and the series has grown to at least 16 novels.  I deeply enjoy a series that is comprised of standalone novels which are all elegantly connected.  I haven’t read the other books yet, but I hope they are as good as her first novel in the series!

The novel grips you from the first page.  It begins with the main protagonist Samantha Blair.  She is being held down by “phantom restraints” as it is revealed that this is not the first time it has happened to her.
